Change the route
Your device talks to the relay over HTTPS instead of contacting the provider directly. That can help when the direct path is blocked, filtered or unreliable.
THE CATEGORY / TELLYRELAY
An IPTV relay is a server that sits between your device and your own provider. Your device connects to the relay, and the relay connects to the provider. Done well, it can make a working stream smoother, match duplicate channels and try another source when one fails.
A relay changes the route your TV stream takes. Instead of your device contacting the provider directly, it contacts the relay over HTTPS. The relay then requests the stream from the provider and passes it back.
That extra layer can do things a direct connection cannot: match the same channel from several provider sources, fall back to another source if one stops working, and buffer or reconnect on the relay side. It can also help when a network makes the direct route awkward.
It is not a content source, not a VPN and not a replacement for your provider.
Your device talks to the relay over HTTPS instead of contacting the provider directly. That can help when the direct path is blocked, filtered or unreliable.
If your provider offers the same channel more than once, the relay can group those sources into one channel entry instead of making you scroll through duplicates.
If one source for a channel stops working, the relay can move to the next source attached to that channel. It is not a guarantee, but it avoids a dead end when a backup exists.
Buffering and reconnects can happen between the relay and the provider, which can make a working stream feel smoother and less stop-start.
Where the provider allows it, the relay can reuse the live source behind a matched channel rather than opening a separate provider connection for every viewer. Provider limits still apply.
The app still looks like the app. The relay works underneath it, so you do not need a second player or a different remote.

A VPN is the right tool if you need all device traffic protected. A self-hosted proxy is the right tool if you want full control. A managed relay is for people who want the TV-specific part handled for them.
It is for people who already have an authorised provider and want a better route to it. That includes:
TellyRelay is a managed version of that idea. You keep your provider and your TellyboxTV app. TellyRelay handles the relay route, channel matching, source fallback and relay-side buffering without asking you to run a server.
The first month is free with no card required. After that it is £20 for 12 months, paid once, with no automatic renewal. It does not include channels or content.
No. A relay handles the TV stream between your device and your provider. A VPN routes all device traffic. A relay does not hide your IP address or make you anonymous.
No. A relay does not supply a provider account, playlist, channels or content. You still need your own authorised provider.
Sometimes. Relay-side buffering and reconnects can make a working stream feel smoother. A relay cannot fix an overloaded provider, a dead source or every network restriction.
No. A relay is not a privacy VPN. It changes the path of the TV stream, not all of your internet traffic.
It depends on the provider. The provider must be reachable from the relay and must allow the connection. Provider connection limits and terms still apply.
